Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly)

Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) is clever beyond his young years. At a spritely 213 years of age, he is probably one of the youngest Coddle-Poppers to assist us with our Cycle of Initiation.

It’s quite unlikely that we’d even notice Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly), even when he’s on our shoulder whispering in our ear.

Inner-Work requires discovering what is true from the ‘still, quiet voice’ that is our Higher-Self who resides in the deepest parts within ourself. We achieve our best results when we pay particular heed to our answers from within, and not from other people. This is not anything that we humans have been taught.

At first, it’s a little unsettling, because venturing into the unknown requires trust, as well as courage. When we dive deep within, we allow the truth within us to rise and meet the question. This concept works best when we completely surrender to the experience.

Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) is subtle, and so quiet, that he’s even able to lead us to believe that his suggestions are our own thoughts. Such is his slyness. It’s easy for us to ignore the advice from another, but when we say it ourselves, it’s more likely to be believable and be acted upon.

Though how we find it hard to see Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) is incredible, because with such a vibrant bright orange waistcoat and matching hatband, he sticks out like a day-glow sore thumb! All of his brass buttons and buckles are so brightly polished that when the sun shines on them, he lights up from three parishes away. His giant sized pocket-watch must nearly weigh as heavy as he does, and is equally as well polished!

When quizzed as to why he carries such a huge pocket watch, Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) beamed the largest smile this side of Hoof-Hearted Hollow, and confided his answer. Would you like me to tell you what it is… ?

Well I can’t…, I’m not allowed… yet!

We all have beliefs and thoughts that make us suffer. A raindrop just IS, the farmer puts a good belief on it because it waters his crops, the tourist however, puts a bad label on it, because they’d prefer sunshine. When we  stop believing our beliefs, the suffering always stops too. Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) knows full well, that suffering is optional. Because, without a ‘should’ or a ‘shouldn’t’ thought, it just IS.

Since the arrival of the Flip-Its, Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) and all the other Coddle-Poppers have found a joy in themselves that never goes away. This same joy is in each and every one of us… if we so choose.

Most of us are familiar with the work of Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) because of his association with the Flip-Its, DuBull-Chekkeurrs, and the Great Coddle-Popper ‘Blame-Game’ Challenge, but that’s another story for another day, but can be found at FairyWood.ca. It is however, due to his sly talents that he gravitated towards the Flip-Its and DuBull-Chekkeurrs in the first place.

If Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) could be summed up with just one word, it would be ‘acceptance’. Whatever it is that’s turning our life upside down, Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly)’s advice would be to accept it. No matter what it is, he will always tell us that we should accept it… it just IS.

Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) earned his ‘sly’ reputation because when we accept our worst case scenario, it can no longer be the worst case, by virtue of the fact that we’ve now turned it into something that IS acceptable.

Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) understands that it’s our own resistance that gives whatever that thing is, its power over us. Likewise, it’s only our acceptance that gives us our power back too.

Let’s go back to the giant sized pocket watch of Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly), because now it’s okay for me to tell you.

Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) carries his big pocket watch because he loves to count just how long that it takes for the penny to drop from the moment that he’s finished whispering his suggestions, to the moment that we understand the epiphany that just entered our earhole. Tick…, tock…, tick…, tock… .

When we accept our ‘whatever that thing is’, we’re then in a position to let it go too, and it’s at that point that we get our power back. Acceptance is what relaxes our mind and cultivates our intuition and creative thinking. Tick…, tock…, tick…

Our Higher-Self knows what we need to do, because it’s of Source (the Divine), so it also knows that we can do it too; we just need to get out of our own way and not fight ourself in the process of doing it!

Resistance is what keeps us stuck. Resistance has the sneaky ability to make our ‘whatever it is’ problem seem enormous, and blown out of all proportion, and, makes us feel tiny, overwhelmed, and unable to cope by comparison. But, when we allow Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) to successfully persuade us to accept the problem, we then become empowered and larger than the problem of the ‘whatever it is’. We become the vessel that contains IT. Tick…, tock…, tick…

Energy can be neither created nor destroyed. It can only be transmuted. Humans have the false belief that by our acceptance, we might make the ‘whatever it is’ thing permanent. Whereas Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) reveals to us that it’s our acceptance that makes the ‘whatever it is’ thing, fluid. Our ‘what we believed’ unchangeable ‘whatever it is’ thing, undergoes a transformation when we accept it. Why? Because it wants to change.  Change is constant. Tick…, tock…, tick…

Flow is the nature of life, so it’s our own resistance that holds our ‘whatever it is’ in place. What we resist, persists, so to speak. Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) insists that the best way for us to change our ‘whatever it is’, is to FULLY accept it, all the way down to the deepest level of our being, and watch it as it changes.

If we’re to take away just one piece of advice from Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly), then it would be for us to flow. We should flow like water flows around a rock. Flowing water does not have time to get stagnant, it does not resist the rocks, the water just keeps flowing until it gets to the sea. Tick…, tock…, tick…

Acceptance’ is the first step to our mental freedom (which is not something that anyone can be given); freedom is something people take, or we give away. People are as free as they CHOOSE to be. When we change the way that we look at things, the things that we look at change. Sydney ‘Tick-Tock’ Sniggleworth (The Sly) doesn’t promise that it will be easy, but he DOES promise that it will be worth it!
